The fishing & your nine-day itinerary
Day 1 · Arrive in Tahiti
Arrive at Faa’a International Airport in Papeete and settle into your hotel. There is time to rest, prepare equipment and meet the group for the expedition briefing.
Day 2 · Papeete to Anaa
Fly to Anaa, where our local team meets you and transfers you to the homestay in Tukuhora. Unpack, rig your rods and fish that afternoon when flight times and conditions permit.
Days 3–8 · Six full fishing days
After an early breakfast, guides collect anglers at approximately 7:30 a.m. Boats carry packed lunches, snacks and drinking water.
Fish in pairs across lagoon flats, reef habitat and other suitable areas. Your guides choose each day’s water around tides, light, wind and weather. Fishing generally finishes around 5:00 p.m., followed by dinner at approximately 7:00 p.m.
Day 9 · Return to Papeete
After breakfast, transfer to Anaa Airport for your return flight. Depending on the confirmed timetable, connect with an overnight international departure or arrange an additional night in Tahiti.
Your island stay
A Polynesian family homestay
Stay at the established, family-operated homestay in Tukuhora. Twin-share rooms, communal dining and social areas, and easy access to the lagoon make it a comfortable, informal base for the week.
This is an authentic island homestay rather than a conventional fishing lodge or luxury resort.
Food & hospitality
Our local family and hospitality team prepare the meals. Breakfast generally includes fresh fruit, coffee, bread, local honey and eggs. Packed lunches, snacks and drinking water travel with you each fishing day.
Evenings bring generous island cooking: fresh fish, chicken, rice, vegetables and local produce. We supplement island ingredients with supplies brought on our inbound flight. A lobster dinner or traditional pig roast may feature, depending on availability and community plans.
Life beyond the fishing
Eat with your hosts and enjoy opportunities to join island activities such as cycling, kayaking, football, spear throwing, dancing and community gatherings.
Wi-Fi is available at the homestay, but speed and reliability are limited. Plan for time offline. Power and other facilities are subject to the realities of a remote Tuamotu atoll.
Getting to Anaa
Anaa lies in the Tuamotu Archipelago, approximately 350 km east of Tahiti.
Arrive in Tahiti the day before
International guests fly into Faa’a International Airport in Papeete. We require arrival at least one day before the domestic flight to Anaa, allowing time for delays, rest and equipment preparation.
We coordinate your island connection
Air Tahiti operates limited services to Anaa. Flight days and times change seasonally, and some services include an intermediate stop. We coordinate group domestic reservations once the relevant expedition timetable is released.
On Anaa, our local team meets you at the airport and transfers you to the homestay.
Prepare for a remote island
Weather, baggage capacity and domestic schedules can affect the itinerary. We coordinate domestic flights, transfers and fishing-equipment logistics in advance, and provide comprehensive packing and tackle lists before departure. Airline excess-baggage and equipment charges are excluded from the fare.
