Which trip can I join now?
Ask us about the April 7–14, 2027 Fanning hosted week, offered with Isolation Outfitters. Nonouti, Kanton and the other Gilbert Islands explorations are being developed for 2027/28; dates and final programs will follow.
How do I get to Fanning Island?
The April program connects through Kiritimati, also known as Christmas Island, with the onward island flight and transit nights arranged as part of the trip. North American anglers usually travel through Honolulu. Confirm your itinerary with us before buying international tickets, particularly the local arrival dates across the International Date Line.
What is island accommodation like?
Fanning uses simple, traditional island accommodation rather than a resort. Expect a practical base for long days on the water. Accommodation and camp arrangements for each exploratory expedition will be explained before you commit.
How experienced do I need to be?
For Fanning, confident casting in wind and comfort wading uneven flats are useful foundations. Tell us about your saltwater experience and fitness so we can discuss the trip with you. Exploratory programs require flexibility and a willingness to fish developing locations.
