Your April 7–14, 2027 program

Seven nights with Fanning Island as the fishing destination. The program begins and ends on Kiritimati, allowing the overnight stays needed around the inter-island flight. No Slack Loops partners with Isolation Outfitters, which operates on Fanning, and works with the island’s guides and hosts.

The fishing and local guides

Each day is planned around the tide, wind and light. Boats carry anglers to fishing areas, with most fishing taking place on foot. Expect long wading sessions across sand, coral and uneven lagoon terrain rather than a fixed daily circuit.

Bonefish and giant trevally are the principal targets, with bluefin trevally and other saltwater species adding variety. Local knowledge helps the group choose where to spend its time. Catch sizes and species depend on the conditions and opportunities each day.

Guiding is normally based on two anglers sharing one local guide and boat. The group is limited to six anglers.

Your day-by-day itinerary

Wednesday, April 7 · Arrive on Kiritimati. Meet at Cassidy International Airport (CXI), transfer to your overnight accommodation and prepare for the onward island flight.

Thursday, April 8 · Fly to Fanning. Take the inter-island service to Tabuaeran, the local name for Fanning Island. Transfer to Fanning Island Lodge, settle in and fish during the afternoon when the flight schedule and conditions allow.

Friday–Monday, April 9–12 · Four full fishing days. Explore the flats, channels and reef edges with local guiding and boat support. Take lunch into the field and return to your island base in the evening.

Tuesday, April 13 · Final morning and return flight. Fish during the morning when practical, then fly back to Kiritimati for an overnight stay before your international connection.

Wednesday, April 14 · Depart from CXI. Transfer to Cassidy International Airport for your onward flight. Confirm the local departure and arrival dates shown on your tickets.

This sequence is subject to the confirmed flight schedule, weather and local operating conditions. We will confirm the travel plan before you purchase international flights.
